Community Supported Agriculture

About Our CSA

We are Virginia Herrera and Zenon Ramirez, originally from the village of Asuncion Atoyaquillo, Oaxaca. We have lived in the US for 25 years working for Spring Hill Organic Farm. In 2019, the owner of Spring Hill retired, and we made a long-term dream come true and went into business for ourselves, working the same land that we have for the last twenty years. We’re proud to be a part of the local food community here in Oregon. Thank you for considering joining the Eloisa familia.

Community supported agriculture, or CSA, is a season-long direct partnership between a farmer and their customers. In the CSA model, a customer subscribes with a farm to receive a weekly box of produce. The relationship is mutually beneficial, as customers receive more veggies for their money while their financial commitment supports the farmer throughout the season. The contents of the box will vary throughout the year, as we send you the vegetables currently at their seasonal peak.

A CSA subscription will allow for true in-and-out experience as you stock up on your weekly Eloisa Organic Farm produce. Rather than waiting in long market lines, you just come by our booth at the market and check your name off our list as you take your pre-packed box of freshly harvested goodies. While farmers are faced with increasingly unpredictable weather and cost increases, CSA offers stability when a farm needs it the most.

Box Contents

We grow a wide variety of certified organic vegetables and are known for having one of the best selections of specialty peppers and tomatoes in the state. Each box contains a mix of greens, staple foods, herbs, and specialty items that change throughout the season. Every week, we send out an email on Fridays listing the box contents, recipe ideas, and keeping you up to date with what’s going on at the farm. 2023 CSA Seasons

While most CSA programs require a 20+ week commitment, we offer three smaller, affordable seasons, Spring, Summer, and Fall. We do offer discounts for folks who are able to commit to multiple seasons. Register for 2 seasons for a 3% discount and register for all 3 seasons for a 6% discount (over 2 weeks of produce for free).

Can I sign up for a CSA after the Registration deadline?

If we haven’t sold out, yes! The whole point of CSA is for the community to help farmers with the upfront costs of the season, knowing they will receive a share of the produce throughout the year, and we plant according to our CSA numbers, so we strongly prefer as much early registration as possible. However, there is no fee for late registration, and you can join our CSA anytime for a prorated rate of $30 a week for the number of weeks left in any given season, until shares sell out. Late registrations do not qualify for discounts.

Pick-Up Locations

We offer four different pick-up locations, one in Albany, three in Portland

Vacation Vouchers

Each season each CSA member is allowed one vacation voucher worth $30 to replace a week that you need to take off for whatever reason. The $30 voucher can be spent at our booth anytime and will be issued to the member at market the week following their vacation/week off. We require at least a full week’s notice by email in order to qualify for the vacation voucher, by Tuesday night the week of at the absolute latest.

If you sign up for multiple seasons, you have access to one voucher per season you sign up for. So, for example if you sign up for all three seasons, you get three vacation vouchers to use upon request.

We know that sometimes people get sick or have other emergencies in life that can prevent them from being able to pick up their box. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re in a tough situation and we may be able to be flexible. If you miss your pick-up on a Saturday, you have the option to pick up your box at our Sunday Montavilla Farmers Market, as long as you send us an email ASAP on Saturday.
